weight loss and diets.?
Hi, so heres the thing, I am 16 years old and overweight, I want to have all of the bad excess fat off of me by 2010. That is my goal. I started to work out at Curves for women about 2 months ago, and I wasn't really on a diet, but I cut down on portions, and I found out that I only lost 5 or 6 pounds in that time period, I don't want to tell you how much I weigh, but I need to follow something, because that will make it easier, I know it will for me, please don't give me rude responses, I just need some help as to a diet, or something like that. Any advice would be great, and how much weight at the most should you loose a month? And do you think it is possible to loose 70 pounds in a year? Thanks!

- 70 lbs in a year is possible, but i'd plan more on 40 if you stick to your working out and diet plans. Congrats on losing the 6 pounds! It's a hard thing to lose weight when you start working out because of all the muscle you're gaining. In fact, a lot of people GAIN weight at the beginning so you're doin great! As far as a diet, good job on cutting down on the portions. You want to just be aware of the amount of calories you're taking in daily and find places where you are taking in empty and useless calories. Keep eating the good stuff, just don't go crazy with it because if you eat too much then you're calorie intake will be right where it was before! Read labels, keep a journal of your calorie intake. Eat treats here and there but don't have them laying around where you'll be tempted to eat them all the time. I think you're on the right track so keep it up. Eat your veggies and fish :) 5-6 pounds your first two months is a fine number and if you continue to live this healthy lifestyle you should start seeing 5-6 pounds in a month! Good Luck!!
- yes its possible to loose that in a year. if thats your goal to loose 70 pounds you could do that by this time next year. you should have motivation to loose that by mid 2009 not 2010. that is a long time and one day when you want to slack you will just think that you have until 2010 to reach your goal. the harder you work you will see more results. I'm 17 and have been trying to loose about 5,10 pounds im in shape really good shape. and i have to work ridiculously hard for this, all you need is motivation and you will see those results for this time next year. aim for 2009 not 2010. i know people who loose thirty pounds in 2 months.
- I like your attitude. None of this "how to lose weight fast and easy" bs. Yes, it's very possible to lose 70 pounds in a year. Learn all you can about nutrition, exercise, and calorie management.
