Can anyone help with a weight loss question?

I lost almost 80 pounds taking ephedra after last child. But, it's since been pulled off the market. Walking, dieting and exercising aren't helping me at all. Is there anything else that I can take that is close to or the equivilant to ephedra?

  1. I am taking an appetite suppresant called apedix but you have to go to a nutritionist first. It helps me alot because of i didn't take this pill i would be pigging out.
  2. Try Muscletech's Hydroxycut Hardcore: http://www.hydroxycut.com/ Don't expect results like ephedra but atleast with hydroxycut you'll know that you won't have severe health problems a couple years down the road. It'll cut your bodyfat down, you'll have a sh*tload of energy and to complement that, it's considered healthy. It hasn't been evaluated by the FDA (like most supplements) but so far from what I know, there haven't been any deaths or severe side effects reported. So stop by the GNC store and pick up a trial pack and if you like it (you probably will), use it, it'll work. Hydroxycut is as close as you can get to ephedra without the side effects. EDIT: To add, I think that proper diet and exercise are the best way to go. Pills won't give you real weight loss without exercise.
  3. Good for you on the weight loss! I go to Weight Watchers and have lost over 50 lbs. Why not check your area and see if there is a meeting near you? I love the people in my group and the leader is great. Good luck!
  4. Perhaps you need to be more strict with your eating and exercise more. Pills are a crutch, and potentially harmful. Keep your calorie intake to around 1300 a day, and work up to exercising at least 1 hr a day, but 2 is better (1 hr a.m., 1 hr p.m.) Get plenty of cardio...if you walk, make it a BRISK walk, not a stroll...get your heart pumping...use aerobic videos or DVDs or take a class...get moving and do it a min of 3 days a week, but shoot for 5. Up to 4 lbs weightloss a week is the max recommended for it not to be excessive and to increase your chances of keeping it off... Good luck...and seriously stay away from the pills...they are terribly unhealthy and ya can't stay on them forever anyway...so when you stop taking your crutch, what happens? The weight returns...make a lifestyle change and stick with it...then ya won't need a crutch that tells you to diet and exercise anyway...
  5. Phentermine : Here is some articles I found in the past about it: http://my.webmd.com/drugs/search.aspx?stype=DRUG&query=Phentermine http://my.webmd.com/hw/weight_control/hw252674.asp http://my.webmd.com/hw/weight_control/aa71898-yourinfo.asp I have some info printed out that lists all the various brand names, but couldn't find it again no WebMD. - - - - Here are some others - but i didn't like the sounds of them when i researched them.... Adipex, Ionamin, Bontril, Meridia, Xenical, Didrex, Tenuate, Phendimetrazine, Diethylproprion (generic equivalent for TENUATEĀ®) - - - *** the biggest risk with the phentermine is possible heart enlargement.
