What am I doing wrong? -Weight Loss Question-?

I have been trying to lose weight for a while now, I eat alot less each day, (fruit and vegetables for breakfast, with a glass of milk, egg and piece of bread), salad for lunch, and a 500 calorie dinner, I cut out all junk food and other things, why am I gainning weight instead? What am I doing wrong, should i eat less? (BTW I also excersise 10 minuets a day)

  1. Need to break a sweat man! 10 minutes? This won't cut it. At least 30 min a day or hour every other day to get in shape.
  2. It sounds like you should be losing weight. You may have a problem with your thyroid, etc. Better check with a doctor. You may discover something that you are overlooking. Check the info at this site - http://www.purplepumpkintree.com/WEIGHTCONTROL.html
  3. You need to calculate how many calories that adds up to. If it's less than 1200, then you need to eat more to loose weight. I know that sounds crazy, but your body has a "starvation mode" which means when it isn't getting enough calories, it starts storing EVERY calorie it gets as fat. There's a great website I use for this, it has helped me loose 20lbs.
  4. ARE YOU STEAL DRINKING POP AND LOTS OF JUICE THOSE THINGS HAVE ALOT OF SUGAR CUT OUT ALL OF THE POP TOTALLY MAYBE DIET SODA HERE AND THERE BUT UP YOUR EXERCISE TO ABOUT 20 TO 30MIN A DAY YOU WILL START LOSING GOOD LUCK
  5. well, if you eat less you wouldnt lose any weight i would suggest something other than milk milk actually isnt very good for you (lesson learned the hard way) pretty much everything that comes out of a cow isnt good for you(everything) i would also suggest more healthy snacks and try to excersise a little bit longer each day
  6. I think each and every persons body responds differently to different methods so what works for one may not nessesarily work for you. I personally lost 41 kgs/90lbs two years ago and have maintained my goal weight since. I would recommend you increase psysical activity for one, 20 mins a day and you need to get the heart rate up for these sessions. Drop the eggs (yolks are high in fat) and reduce fruit servings to one or two half cup servings per day (because they are high in natural sugars). Make sure you body recieves the correct energy it needs to get you through the day, I found I actually had to eat more! You only need to be in a deficit of 500 calories to lose weight! There are some great websites that give you an idea on what your body needs based on your height and current weight. Basically it's all in the math! Here's a great website that helped me understand what my body needs. http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/ Best of luck to you!
  7. Okay....this is a suggestion....I had the same exact problem...try eating 5x a day....3 small meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and eat 2 snacks in between breakfast/lunch and lunch/dinner. Try to eat before 7pm and make dinner your lightest meal...no fried foods or junk food, drink all water ... completely cut out all breads and you may also have to knock up the exercise routine by 5 mins each day. Try various routines everyday and add 2-3lb weights to the equation when you workout. This will help with toning...your snacks can be jello/fruit/ and whip cream or juice your fruit instead of eating it(just an idea).....This is what I did and I'm still doing it to this day....let me know if this helps
