Weight loss questions?

So when losing weight, the very basic drill is diet, exercise, water and cut all that sugary crap...My question is, I have been exercising for 1/2 hour per day by kind of jogging or walking really fast on the treadmill. I eat three meals per day with little sugar and a friendly weight loss snack, when is it will the results show? Oh It's been about four or three days. I feel less stressed, more social and happier. Lol...the endorphins kick in pretty quickly for me.

  1. give this process time i am sure the resuls will show soon just b patient
  2. Cut out all white bread and limit carbs such as potato's and all fried stuff including chips. But increase eating, such as the grazing tactic which will increase your metabolism.
  3. Well if you are losing 1lb a week (1-2lbs a week is recommended), you probably wouldn't really notice until after 6 weeks. Your weight can vary 1-3lbs on the scale in just a day, with no REAL weight change, so it would be hard to be sure before then.
  4. My suggestion is to start putting resistance training into your workout. Jogging, walking and running on a treadmill is cardiovascular exercise. You also need 'RESISTANCE" training or weight training. Medications might play a role in weight gain also. Consult a physician if you are taking any kind of medication and find out if there are side effects that cause weight gain. You can get on the scale and see your weight right now. But that only tells you what you are weight against gravity. For example...let's say the scale says you weight 130 lbs. It doesn't tell you if you are 130 lbs of muscle, of fat, of bones, of skin, of water weight. When you get on and off a scale countless times during a week and see that number go up and down, it really doesn't mean much. What you have to start seeing is your clothes fitting looser, your stamina improving, your strength improving and your overall opinion approving. When you start to build a little bit of lean muscle (not body builder type muscles), your body will thank you by starting a chemical process of requiring its body fat to be burned off to feed the new muscle tissue. The more muscle tissue you gain, the quicker you will see your weight loss results
  5. It really depends on how your body will respond to the new diet/exercise regiment. It could take anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months to show dramatic changes. But, you should see changes in how you feel. Proper diet and exercise increases your energy and should make you feel better overall. Also, remember that sugar is not the only thing with calories, so be wary of just avoiding sugar! Make sure you are getting lots of lean proteins, whole wheat's, and LOTS of fruits and vegetables in your diet. If you want to see more weight-loss results, I would suggest speaking to a dietitian about the best way for your specific body type to lose weight. They can formulate a diet/exercise plan for you that can give you the best results possible. Also, when exercising, try to increase your exercise to an hour a day 4 times a week instead of 1/2 hour daily. This keeps your heart rate up longer, improves your stamina and burns more calories. Also take up weight-lifting--it helps in toning muscles!
