Do you ever feel overwhelmed by all the weight loss programs, pills, advice, etc out there?
I want to lose 30 - 50 lbs. But I am overwhelmed by all the programs, pills, advice, plans, etc out there. From the Lemonade Diet, to Sugarbusters to the Adkins Diet of cutting out carbs. YIKES!
Some say just eat less, exercise more, but what do I eat? How much? When do I stop eating?
It's so confusing. I have to lose the weight before my wedding I don't know what to do.

- no
- try becoming a vegan for a while, it works wonderfully! I have lost over 10 pounds in one week
- Exercise, getting the heart rate up, and sensible meal portions are your best but bud...oh ya ..also drink lots of water :)
- nope, I go to weight watchers they teach you how to eat right instead of taking pills or eating pre portioned foods. You learn how to do it yourself so you can eat whatever you want anywhere and all the time. Everything else is a load of bull
- It's easy. well not that easy... just play this game and you'll find out how to have the perfect figure. www.missbimbo.com
- not feeling overwhelmed. I don't believe you have to spend money to lose pounds. The answer has always been the same. Eat less and excercise more.
- no...but dont diet. workout more or go on jenny craig.
- It is very overwhelming. To be honest low carb works the fastest but you put weight right back on as soon as you start adding carbs. Just eat half of what you eat now and get more exercise.
- Just change your eating habits. Instead of eating beef and pork, eat lean chicken and fish (BAKED! NOT FRIED!!!) Try eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and drinking plenty of water and exercising regularly...it works. I lost 15 lbs this way
- You can eat whatever you want if you stick to this ONE guideline: Every 4 hours or so, you eat ONLY an amount of food as big as your hand. Not Andre the Giant's hand, but your hand. My girlfriend lost 60 lbs. this way. It took her about a year and a half. I think your stomach gets used to only that amount of food and shrinks to that size.
- Stay away from fast and processed foods. Eat things with more protein, calicum and fiber. Eat smaller protions. And try to burn the amount of calories you take in. Its about a lifestyle change...if you just diet you will just put back on the weight you lost.
- my mom is 42 she lost 20pds in less then a month.. she didnt eat ne dessert or nething between meals she just went 4 like a 2km walk each day when she could :) she looks a lot skinnier and good luck :) she lossed her weight healthy and u can 2
- I'm six foot and was 225 and one point and i decided to loose some weight. My mom was 220 and now she is 140 (5' 4"). She was on weightwatchers so i decided to try it. I have been on and off it about 4 weeks and have lost 25 pounds and feel great. Try it.
- i was just thinking that! last night i was watching tv and ALL i saw was weight loss commercials! it was crazy. if i were you i would go to sparkpeople.com it is free, you enter your weight, height, how much you want to loose, any food you don't like, and some personal goals. it will then give you a meal plan every day (and you can substitiute things) along with an exercise plan, a place to track inches and pounds that you have lost, and you can make your own profile page. there are also a ton of message boards on it and all the people are really nice and helpful. i got one and i really like it and it helps a lot of people and there are a ton of cool things on it you should check it out!
- You know how to be healthy, I think. You eat healthy foods and you stay active. If you think it's bad for you, it probably is. Each serving of meat should be the size of your palm, not including your finger lengths. Eat until you feel satisfied, not full. Drink LOTS of water. Keep your sodium (salt) intake low. Don't eat a lot of fat - no fried foods. Keep your sugar intake low. Eat lots of veggies - think COLOR. No excuses about you not being able to do it. I see 400lb people doing jumping jacks everyday. Don't depend on pills...most often as soon as you stop taking them you gain the weight back very quickly. Do something...anything...active for at least 30 minutes a day. Buy some low-weight dumb bells and work on getting your lean muscle up. Muscle burns more calories than fat does. It will assist in your weightloss and you'll be more tight overall. A healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week. Pace yourself. Allow your body to adjust - it will.
- Okay first you have to find a diet that suits you? Whats your budget? If you need convenience: Slimfast is a good option If you are a "carnivore": A low carb diet is ideal If you do not like to limit yourself: A low calorie diet is ideal With exercise you really need only a couple things: CARDIO, CARDIO, CARDIO, CARDIO, and some weight lifting. Do about an hour a day. Do not go under 1200 calories a day or you body will go into starvation and hold onto fat. You could also add in some supplements for weight loss, now me not knowing your health condition I HIGHLY recommend Alli. Its FDA approved, OTC, and blocks 25% of fat. Most people who don't try it will blow it off saying its like a laxative but its not! Anyhow if your that overwhelmed you could go to a nutritionists. Have a great wedding and CONGRATS!
- I know what ya mean. Im healthy for my age but Id like to be smaller. ha ha.. So what to do. Eat foods on the pirimeds. NEVER NEVER NEVER stop eatting. It will put you in a state of high tosas which will burn fat to start with but then it will burn musle and in the end if you start eating you will gain weight faster and it will be harder to get off. Find out how many calories your supost to have and cut it by 100 each week as you work out more. that way you are buring up to 200 more callories more than your eatting wich in the end will help you lose weight. Falllow the biggest loser plan. They have the healyest way to lose weight.
- Nah, I ignore them. If ANY diet pull worked, people wouldn't be so fat. Go to a gym and sign up with a personal trainer. Then talk to a nutritionist about what foods you should eat.
- Losing weight is simple not to say that it is necessarily easy. I believe Proper food is the medicine of all diseases and food can prevent any diseases too . Dont believe the hype. Diet pills are never safe. And unhealthy too with lot of side effects. I am 29 years old and i have lost 40 lbs and is now unbelivably slim and healthy with a nutritional meal replacement plan. With this plan that food is made available easily and so losing weight is made very easy and 200 % healthy too. and we can keep it off for years to come too while enjoying foods we love. I lost without all troubles of working out. I can help.I am really healthy now and stronger than ever with very good immunity. Mail me at hippadido@gmail.com
- It's very easy. Input has to be less than output. Ex: you have to lose more calories than you consume. 3500 calories == 1 pound. If you give up 500 calories a day, in 7 days you will have lost a pound. If you eat 2000 calories a day you can also give up 250 calories and lose 250 calories via exercise. At the end of the week, you will lose a pound. All pills and diet drinks are off-limits. Try drinking as much water as you can (not all at once) during the day and you will flush the garbage out of your system. You have to cut out the junk food- it's a must! Eat sensible foods and smaller portions. Eat 2 pieces of pizza, instead of all the whole pizza. Once you start a diet you may lose 5-8 lbs the first week. Don't over do it. If you feel faint from a workout- it's time to stop! Gatorade is nice, but count the amount of sugars on the label. Have a serving, but not a 32 oz. bottle.
