Weight loss?

ok well to start off, i am 175 pound 14 year old boy. we just got a treadmill which i am really excited about and i want to lose some weight...so i have been doing a weight loss progam on the treadmill for about a week now and was woundering if this is a good start. its 20 min. of running on the speed of 6.0. I do this twice a day. what else should i do to lose weight besides to eat right? we dont have any excersize equipment other than the treadmill and 2 weights that are 6.6 pounds each. Thank You and i really REALLY thank you all ahead of time because i want to lose this weight more than anything i have ever wanted before! Thanks for the help harper

  1. Determination and willpower are good starts to any weight loss program, and it looks like you've got them. =) Becoming healthier is always a good thing to do, but make sure not to overdo it. Starting slowly and building your way up will make exercising more manageable and you'll end up being more consistent, so you don't burn out right away. Cardio, which is good for burning fat, involves running as well as other things like swimming, biking, and playing many sports. As far as strength training goes, there are a ton of different things you can do with the weights to strengthen your arms. Doing some crunches and push ups to get into shape couldn't hurt either. Cruches are really good.Im also 14,and im in a dance class in my highschool,we do TONS of workouts and within a week i had lost 5 pounds.You should try that.Dancing to a boy your age,i know seems gay,but its totally not.Its a great way to get a workout and lose some weight.Are you in any sports?Try going for a team sport you like,that may help out.How much do you plan on losing?You must make sure you make a goal for yourself.   3. HI Buddy- Good start. For a growing teen like youself, you need to start lifting weights as well. I bet if you asked a gym teacher or your health teacher they could find you a really good weight training program to do to get your metabolism so you can turn your pounds into lean muscle. Even if you cant do any weight training at your school, you can still get some free weights. That would be a good start. And remember, you could even do a brisk walk on the treadmill for 45 minutes. This keeps your heart pumping fast and that means you are working your body and burning those calories. Its not about how fast your run, its how long you keep that heart rate up.   5. u have to take some diet plan too to reduce ur weight follow this : Reduction of weight: 1) Cook your food without any food oil try to use boiled/steamed vegetables, meat, and lot of salad. 2) Don’t eat any type of junk food. 3) Drink at least 3 ltr of water daily. Make ur habit to drink water as much as u can 4) use brown bread 5) use skimmed and low fat milk and yogurt 6) no sugar of any type. 7) drink diet pepsi if u like. but just one glass once a day. at least take this diet for 3 to 6 months and when u fell that u have achieved your desired weight then make ur eating life style as told above but occasionally u can take other junk food too. the best indoor exercise machine is tread mill. run on tread mill for at least 30 mntns daily. and try to extend ur period for one hour. hope u got the right answer. if u have any query send me an email try yahoo.

  7. I think what your currently doing is fine, remember you don't want to make major changes in your diet or routine as your body will combat against it. The best thing to do is to increase the length of time you spend on your treadmill per day, but gradually, so maybe after 2 - 3 weeks, you might want to try 40 mins on your treatmill and so on and so forth.
  8. Well, for safe and healthy side, try to loose weight slowly and gradually. Set reasonable goals for weight loss. Do not go for a transient weight loss it will not be good for your health. Eat smartly, reduce fat intake and add more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Drinks lots of water and exercise regularly. If you do not have any other exercise machine, try brisk walk.
