How much do programs like Weight Watchers and L.A Weight Loss cost? And do they really work?

I'm 16 and recently gained 25 lbs but would like to get rid of about 40 lbs. I figure NOW is the time to do something about it and seek the help and encouragement from professionals. My question is is How much do these programs cost (specifically L.A Weight Loss) and if they really work? What do they do exacly?

  1. Ashley....I promise this one is much better and will save you more money.......Cleansing is the best way to lose weight in my book, and you are not putting a bunch of harmful chemicals in you. It actually gets rid of all that I would for sure look at that site……cleansewithcgnj.com
  2. Seriously, those places don't cost that much (after the membership fee), but it isn't a way of life. You aren't going to ONLY eat Weight Watchers (or other) food for the rest of your life. You just need to learn how to eat better and portion well. Try www.sparkpeolpe.com My name on there is InnerPrettiness... find me on there and we can support each other! :) Good luck, honey! You are still young, it shouldn't be hard for you at all! ((hugs))
  3. go on the site and call a rep they will better answer foru but what worked for me and wasnt expensive was slimfast!!!!!!!!!!!1 whooooooooooooo
  4. LA Weightloss is expensive. I don't recommend it. Their staff do not know much about nutrition other than the diet outlined for every person that signs up. Seems like most of them are CLUELESS. That was my experience. Plus they make you buy these energy bars that have tons of hydrogenated fats in them. They tell you to eat three a day. If you don't buy them, you can't go on with the program. They cost $14 a box (10 in a box)! I ended up paying something around $2,000. I lost 15 pounds, and I was always STARVING on my plan. I expressed this to my "counselor", they weren't much help. They put me on another plan, and I was still starving. I would lose 5 lbs a week when I actually followed the plan (which is way to much). I got go fed up though with being hungry, I was constantly skrewing up and binging on chips. Weight Watches is cheaper, but it seems like you can do it on your own. The meetings are a pain. And why pay to do it online? You could do it yourself by following diet tips you read in a magazine and keeping your own journal. They're diet plan is not revolutionary. Through all of that, I've lost 25lbs, doing it on my own. I'm done with putting my money into weight loss programs. But if I had to choose, Weight Watchers would be the program I'd go with.
  5. Weight Watchers is a good program. I used it successfully and lost 25 pounds and I was never hungry. In fact, there were a few days where I had to make myself eat more. It cost $40 (I think) to join and then $13 per week. Do the in office instead of the online program because the online program doesn't offer the personal support (unless you don't need the personal support then go with it...it's a little cheaper). Tips for being successful with Weight Watchers: Keep your eating journal with diligence. Drink your water. Excercise close to everyday...walking is free and it works! One extra tip, not necessarily a WW tip, cut out high-fructose corn syruyp whenever possible. It is the complete scourge of the nation and is in just about everything. Good luck on your weight loss goals.
  6. I know weight watchers is like 40 bucks per month but you need to inplement exercise into your routine to lose weight. I recommend Curves if you have one near you. Its 29.00 per month but I do think you have to have an adult join w/you if your under 18. I see a lot of mom's & daughters working out together even if they do not need to lose weight its a great workout. I lost 10 lbs the 1st month with minimal dieting. I just watched what I ate and worked out 3 times per week. Since your so young your body should be very adaptable and you should lose the weight rather quickly.
  7. No matter what program you do, it will only work if you do it. I don't expect to get best answer because I don't know how much they cost, but just know that if you do not properly follow the program exactly, you cannot expect anything good to happen. The people you see on TV who say they've lost a lot of weight... you don't know how long they were on the program. Usually if it's a weight loss of over 50 pounds, they've been doing the program for over a year. Oh, and remember that little note at the bottom of commercials "*results not typical".
