Weight Loss Programs knowledge base
Does anyone know any good weight loss programs that are good for diabetics? A friend of mine is interested in starting a weight-loss program, but is type 2 diabeties. She cannot handle any sugars whatsoever, and has to limit herself to VERY few carbs. With this being said, does any know, preferebly from experience, any good weightloss programs for diabetics? Something where the food can be ordered, such as NutriSystem, where you don't have to go to the place to participate. Thanks in advanced~~! Links would be much appreciated,
Is it just me, or are there a lot more weight loss programs now? I think Tony Ferguson started it, and now every man and his dog has got a weight loss program involving substituting a meal replacement for a proper healthy meal. I'm sure there were others before Tony Ferguson but they just seem to be more in your face now. What do you think?

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by all the weight loss programs, pills, advice, etc out there? I want to lose 30 - 50 lbs. But I am overwhelmed by all the programs, pills, advice, plans, etc out there. From the Lemonade Diet, to Sugarbusters to the Adkins Diet of cutting out carbs. YIKES! Some say just eat less, exercise more, but what do I eat? How much? When do I stop eating? It's so confusing. I have to lose the weight before my wedding I don't know what to do.
Are there any good, free weight loss programs online? I always see a bunch but never know which are good. Or the prob is that it looks free and then after some survey you take, they charge you to find out results and subscribe to their weight loss plan. So are there any gimmick free sites that aid in weight loss and that have good reviews?
Anyone have any good weight loss programs for a teenager? I am 14 years old and I am fat. I've been trying to loose weight but I just can't. Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be best if it works quickly. I am 14 years old and I am fat. I've been trying to loose weight but I just can't. Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be best if it works quickly. I am not one of those girls who say I am fat. Everytime I have to go to the doctor (to get a psyical for sports, when I get sick, etc.) they make it a point to tell me.
Least expensive weight loss programs? Most effective? I'm currently looking for a weight loss program. I'm thinking about maybe Jenny Craigs, LA weight loss, Weight Watchers...only none of these programs have prices on the website. Also, if anyone has used any of these please tell me about your experience... *Please do note, I understand that dieting is not always good and there are ways to lose weight without going to a program. I know myself, however, and my discipline isn't that frat when I do it myself so I would like something structured for me. Thank you in advance for answering the question at hand.
Diet pills and weight loss programs? I was on the bernstein diet for the last year on and off and have lost about 25 pounds on that.... i'd still like to lose another 30 pounds or so... but the bernstein diet is a very pricey one and hard to follow.. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on diet pills or weight loss programs that have worked well for you?? Thanks.

I am so angry about my inability to lose weight that I genuinely hate myself. Weight loss programs are for the wealthy, how can someone on a budget that barely allows gas for the car afford to lose weight? I take medication that causes dramatic weight gain ( no I can not stop taking it ) and on our budget we have to buy what we can afford, healthy foods are a lot more expensive than bargain foods. It's not fair that everything from meat( the cheaper it is the higher the fat content) to fresh friuts and vegatables ( very expensive to buy) are too expensive for a family on a very tight budget to buy regularly. Believe me, when we buy healthy foods we get less than half of the food that we need for the week. In order to feed our family we have to get what we can afford and its garbage. And all of the advertisements for weight loss programs where people lose large amounts of weight in a healthy way are way out of reach for me, the cost unbelievable. Does anyone know of a way I can safely lose weight that wont break our budget? I want to do it right, I dont want my daughter to see me starve myself. You are offering really helpful and practical advice, sometimes it's hard to see past you frustration, I am going to try some of these suggestions and hope for the best. Thank you so much for offering kind words and not nasty remarks. Very much appreciated. Thank You.

Does the Nutrisystem Weight Loss Diet Program really work? I plan on getting on the weight loss program in November (after having a baby). I would like to know if it really works???!!!! Just checked out their website and started looking around. I can’t find a price without letting them know my personal information. Does anyone know about how much it cost? Did it work for you? My plan is to drop about 50-60 pounds. The reason I am considering Nutrisystem is because the food is already made. With having a new baby I will be pressed for time. Please only respond if you have tried it or know someone that has. Thanks everyone!

I need help!! Weight Loss Programs?? I am 5'9" and a little over 200 pounds, 21 years old. For most of my youth 13-19, I grew up with my dad forcing me to exercise with him and do the atkins diet on and off. Throughout this period of yo-yo dieting, my weight gradually increased from about 140 to 180. I just got married in January and my husband says he wants me to lose weight but that he is not going to be invasive the way my father was. After 8 months of marriage and several little attempts at dieting, I am now up to around 210. I have finally decided for myself that I need to lose weight. My husband says he is willing to pay for any weight loss program I want. My question is: What weight loss programs have any of you tried? Weight Watchers? Nutrisystem. etc? What are the pros and cons? How effective are they? Did you gain any weight back afterwards? Thank you so much!! I really need some advice! Please help! I live in southern California.
Do hospitals have weight loss programs monitored by professionals? And do heath insurances cover them? My mother is over 50 years old and over 100 lbs over weight. She has also had 2 injuries to her knees in the past that prevent her from doing many exercises. I know there are weight loss surgeries but I would like to encourage her to lose weight through exercise. 1) do hospitals provide weight loss programs where the patients can exercise there with supervision? 2) are there insurances that cover this? I'm not sure what insurance my mom has but she has had the same one for many, many years through her work. How could I go about finding the info I need about the hospitals and insurance? When I try to look up info about insurance all I get is information for free quotes.
Why does the weight loss program discourage exercise? I'm on this weight loss program and they say not to exercise too much since I'm only eating 1200 calories. why do they discourage much needed exercise? Isn't it healthy? I want to work out 5 times a week one hour a day on the elliptical and I know I will have better results...do you think this is a good Idea, I'm also a bit used to it Yeah...I thinking money.....
Strength training in a weight loss program? One always hears how strength training is good for a weight loss program, or how permanently switching to a better diet and incorporating strength training will add muscle and bring down the fat level. How is this possible, though? Doesn't the body need a surplus of caloric intake (relative to stable rate) in order to add muscles, and a deficit of calories to burn fat? How do those two elements go together? My guess would be that eating the biggest meal of the day, with slightly more protein than usual, following a strength training session will result in a "surplus" of calories for a short "time window" (say, the 3 hours following a workout) and in that time frame, the body will actually use energy/protein to build muscle. Once one goes back to small portions, the body will once again resort to burning fat instead of building muscles. So basically, strength training with weight loss is possible, although the strength gains will be lesser than usual, and the weight loss slower?
What weight loss program are you on and why? I just started weight watchers and was curious the percentage of people on it, as well as other programs. I chose weight watchers because you don't have to limit yourself on what you can and can't eat, as long as you keep track of the points you're allowed each day.
How to lose 2-3 pounds a week for sure? Are those weight loss programs worth it? Last year, I lost weight on my own and it took me a long time to drop 15 lbs...I heard losing 2-3 lbs is still healthy ,right? I don't want to just settle for 1 pound a week like last time. But, how do you go up to losing 2 pounds a week. I'm 5'5 and about 125. I want to be about 115... Last time I lost weight, I worked out on an empty stomach, watched my calorie intake (ate from 1200-1500)..had a cheat day every 9 days to boost up metabolism...what else can I do? Do those weight loss programs work like Jenny Craig to help you lose weight faster? Doing it on my own was hard for me. What else should I eat..should I completely avoid certain things, even if they fit in with the amount of calories I eat per day.. If you detox like that, don't you put on that weight back right away after you start eating normally? Isn't it just 6 pounds of water and not actually fat?
Weight loss? Do any of you out there know of any weight loss programs i am 5'3 and 2 inches tall and i weight 152 lbs. i am worried about my weight everyone treats me different my parents said i don't have to worry about it but now i think i am fat any ideas please help i need help sooooooo bad.

Weight loss programs: do they really work? After having struggled for many months lo lose weight, I decided to go in for Body Therapy from Inspirations. I was told they use aromatic oil massages to dissolve the cellulite and subsequenly take away inches off the body. They are also including a machine based vibration therapy to boost my metabolic levels and fat burn. I want to know if this really works and can i maintain the same even later if I follow their dietary and fitmess guidelines? My eating habits have been healthy and does not exceed 1500-1800 calories in a day.

Weight Loss Programs/Pills/Cleanses - Reviews & Thoughts? I've been looking into many of the products that are currently available on the market today. A lot of them are based on the idea of cleansing one's body of toxins and/or colon cleansing. Here are some of the products I've read up on... Dr. Suzanne Gudakunst's Book "Top Secret Fat Loss" Dr. Natura's Colonix & Toxin Out Ever Cleanse Internal Flush - which I have used in the past and would give it a 3.5 out of 5. Results are similar to that of a laxative, however, I would say it does increase the frequency of both types of bathroom trips and helps to really make one feel better - also, the expert at our local independent health food store said that it's been around for a lot longer than it's been advertised and has been a highly trusted product for both clearing out the bowel along with toxins, but also for cleansing the kidney or liver (can't remember which one she said). But...I really want to cleanse my system and I don't want to waste my money. It seems very hard to find reviews on these products. Sure, the websites have lots of testimony, but none that I can believe as they may be fake. I want to hear it out of the horse's mouth. Also, if you know of any products, please mention them even if you have no idea what the product's reputation is. I'm willing to do my research. As much info as possible please. I greatly appreciate the answers so far, however, they really are suggestions for weight loss and not cleansing. Other than in my headline of my question, I don't mention weight loss as my issue at hand. Really, what I want to know is information on the products I mentioned, and more info regarding "cleansing" my system. Yes, many of these types of products are related to weight loss, but that's not my initial goal. So, once again, if anyone has used these products, heard reviews on these products mentioned or has used other products that are good or bad...I'd love to know. Though, I will do some research on the other products that have been mentioned here, as they sound worth looking at for weight loss.
DO you think insurance companies that pay for smoking cessation programs in full but not weight loss programs? are discriminating. I think they are and want to know what others think. Overall those who are Obese/Overweight and Smokers have equally high health care costs. Please sound off I love that folks are talking and I am not offended by any of the answers. The information above is IMO and as one responder pointed out the some insurance companies offer DISCOUNTED plans for those who are overweight but FULL discounts for smokers. Want to know the stats for covering a smokers ill health-check http://www.truth.com if you want an unbiased opinion check the AMA website. I too believe that we should accept responsibility for our own answers but some folks weight can be attributed to parents who fed them the wrong foods as youth and caused them to gain additional fat cells (this is factual-ask a dietitian-any one) and is part of why there are so many overweight children across the world, not just america. The removal of and/or limited PE classes is just a fraction of the problem. Lets keep talking and keep the dialogue open and respectful as it has been. dan throwing in his insurance opinion was appreciated but i know there are other opinions out there. does everyone believe that smoking is purely a physical addiction void of emotion and mental considerations? I guess another way of looking at this is which has the better return result-that is will assisting someone with smoking decrease the cost of related expenses vs assisting someone with obesity.

Weight Loss? Should I do the weight watchers/la weight loss/another diet program, or just try to lose weight on my own with good diet and exercise. I am going to try and lose a total of 80lbs.
Which weight loss program worked best for you? There are so many weight loss programs out there, it's hard to tell which ones aren't just in it for the money and which ones are truly effective. So, I'm curious as to how many people out there have effectively and safely lost weight and what program they are using. I'm looking for a program that's effective, safe, doesn't require a lot of money, and is realistic. Does such weight loss program even exist?????
